Forget any preconceptions you have about what sort of books you like. This has pretty much a little of everything so should please most people. But best of all, it is well written, with a good plot, great characters, excellent dialogue and a wonderful dry sense of humour. If you miss Pratchett as much as me then finally the void has been filled! In a beautifully imagined world, truly wonderful characters face doubts, race through the skies, learn to trust and bring a smile with each page. Delightful storytelling. If you like Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett, you'll probably like the K'Barthan series. It has a similar vibe of realworld from a slightly skewed angle and also a slight 2000 AD comic book feel to some characters. - Amazon UK reader
